Autumn term 2025

Welcome to the Autumn term in Maple class.  Our teacher is Miss Roscoe.  Our teaching assistants are Miss Styles & Mrs Bray.   

Our topics for the term are: 

Autumn1: 

Topic	Let's Explore - this project teaches children about the environments that they share with others, including their homes, school and places in the local community.
Mini Project	Build It Up - this project teaches children about structures and materials and gives them the opportunity to work in groups to create collaborative structures.
Story Pack	Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

Autumn 2:  

Topic	Once Upon a Time - this project supports children to develop a love of stories and reading. It encourages children to learn, retell and act out familiar and traditional tales including Cinderella, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
Mini Project	Puppets & Pop-Ups - this creative project explores puppets and pop up books and gives children the opportunity to make puppets and use them to tell exciting stories.
Story Pack	There is No Dragon in This Story by Lou Carter

 

Please see our weekly newsletters for information about what we are learning each week and reminders.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do come and talk to us. 

Reminders: 

• Please remember a warm coat each day and please make sure that everything is named, including shoes, wellies and lunchboxes. 
• As the weather starts to turn colder, children will need hats and gloves in school every day (named, of course).    
• Water bottles are kept in the classroom.  If your child has packed lunch, please send a separate drink in their lunch box. 
• Uniform for Reception is black joggers or leggings, white polo shirt and green TGFS sweatshirt.
