Who are the Governors?

Committee membership

Tim Marshall OBE - Chair

Tim Marshall OBE brings a wealth of experience from his roles in broadcasting and digital platforms, education and charities. He was an award-winning producer and director at the BBC, a Senior Vice-President at Disney and CEO of JANET UK.

Aside from his charity work, he is also a Corporation Member and Chair of Finance Committee at Bucks College Group. He has two grown-up children and lives in the village with his wife, a retired GP.

Kathryn Beevers

Kathryn has worked in research and development for nearly 20 years, both in academia and industry.  She currently works for the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline within respiratory medical affairs, where she is responsible for providing medical education to healthcare professionals and reviewing scientific and marketing materials.   She lives in Tylers Green with her husband and three children; two sons who attended TGFS and a daughter who is in Year 1.

 

Esther Pilgerstorfer - Development Governor

Esther has worked within the television industry for over 20 years as Head of Production and Operations for Channel 4 and the BBC. She has previously worked for Disney, MTV and BBC Worldwide whilst living in Singapore.  Esther grew up in the village and attended both the First School and the Middle School. Esther has a daughter in Year 2 and a son in Reception.

 

 

Laura Gregory - Equalities Governor

Laura is the Deputy Headteacher and SENCO at Tylers Green First School and joined the school in 2019.  She has taught for over 20 years, mostly in Buckinghamshire, in both mainstream and specialist primary schools. 

 

 

Catherine Drummond - Co-opted Governor

Cat Drummond is a qualified actuary and Partner at LCP LLP. She lives in Penn and is passionate about supporting the local community and ensuring all children have access to high quality and inclusive education. She plans to use the skills and experience from her professional background to enhance TGFS’s governance and risk management, as well as helping to ensure all pupils, regardless of their background or needs, have the best opportunities to grow, learn and succeed.

Amy Cunningham - SEND Governor, Pupil Premium & Sport Premium Governor

Amy moved to Tylers Green in 2017 with her husband, Sam. They have two children; a son who attends TGFS and a younger daughter.

Amy is originally from Somerset but has spent her adult life moving around the country for her job. She has been a television reporter for more than 20 years and is currently a News Reporter for ITV national news. Previously she has worked for Sky and the BBC and has interviewed everyone from Prime Minsters, to Olympians and Oscar winners. She works under her maiden name, Amy Lewis.

Laura Yeo - Co-opted Governor

Laura is head of Business Development and an Executive Producer for Axis Animation, who specialise in CG trailers and Cinematic content for the Games industry.

Laura is originally from Glasgow but has been living in Buckinghamshire for 5 years, and moved to Penn in 2022. Laura lives with her husband, daughter and her little dog, Pom Pom.

Saj Khan - Safeguarding Governor & Local Authority Governor

Saj Khan is a mum of two and her eldest child joined Tyler’s Green First School in September 2023. Saj is a qualified Social Worker and has worked in Children’s Services for 13 years, with a wealth of experience in Child Protection. She is currently employed as a Child Protection Advisor at Buckinghamshire Council, whilst also sitting as a Non-Independent Member of the Buckinghamshire Fostering Panel and working as a Practice Educator for Social Work students. Saj is excited to join the Governing Body and to support the school community to achieve its goals for the school’s pupils.

Matthew Swansbury - Numeracy Governor

Matt lives in Tylers Green with his wife and two children. His daughter attends TGFS and his son will do so in due course.

Matt’s professional life is as an Audit Director for Saffery LLP. He is responsible for the delivery of both compliance and advisory services to entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses in and around the Thames Valley area.

Matt is looking forward to drawing on his professional experiences to contribute to the efforts of the Board of Governors in supporting and developing TGFS

 

Sam Cartwright - Literacy & Wellbeing Governor

Sam has spent two decades teaching at primary and secondary schools, working in state and private education. One of her children is at Tylers Green First School and the other will be attending next year.

Sam will be our Literacy and Wellbeing Governor.
